Dare You To Move

Music Video Made by : Joel H. Keka Jr., David Edger and James Hayze

This was a week to week project. It was done in 2007 and we were trying to capture Las Vegas in this music video. Well, that’s what David wanted to do. All I wanted was to gain experience in my own field and I strive to keep myself at work with digital film and video production even if we had to use a home video camera. I would say that the hardest part of this production was getting a cast and crew together. We already had ourselves, but we would have to meet up every week and transportation was thin. The actress was a friend of ours and was very reliable at the time.

We traveled to the strip every weekend and walk that strip about 8 times. I’d say that most off our money went into the gas for James’s car. We filmed according to our storyboard, but sense it wasn’t a major video, we did some filming away from the storyboard, which resulted in more raw footage to work with. A hard part that accorded was finding places to film and we realized how important planning out shots in the field was. For being one of our more important shots, we gained a lot of knowledge when shooting.

When we finally stocked up on all the raw footage that we needed, we were ready for the editing process. This was one of my jobs. When editing, I found many parts of this video to be very fun to create, but other parts were very hard to create because the like of footage that was needed. On a normal production we would have to go back out to shoot what we needed, but we were unable to because we could only hold on to the camera for so long. I did my best to connect everything together in the video and I do like the outcome of the music video, but I do admit that I could improve on it.

General Public

“A company needs to be concerned about the general public’s attitude toward its products and activities. The public’s image of the company affects its buying.” (Armstrong and Kotler: Page 68)

“A company can prepare marketing plans for these major publics as well as for its customers markets.” (Armstrong and Kotler: Page 68) When I came up with the idea for this book I was too into my own world and I thought of what ‘I’ would want and what ‘I’ would like instead of thinking what others wanted. It’s good to think about yourself when it’s just yourself. But when the general public is involved, it may be best that you start thinking differently about you product and create a good public image.
